Message from The Messenger

5 November 2020 by Daisy Dixon

Hot on the heels of two features in the Saddleworth Independent, Chrysalis is back in the news again, with a great feature in The Messenger – North West Law.

The Messenger – North West Law, is the Manchester Law Society’s monthly magazine, which is delivered free to all 3,600 members. This quality publication provides regular updates on procedural changes, discussion, debates and articles of general interest.

This month Daisy Dixon, founder and psychotherapist at Chrysalis, explores stress in the legal sector, the impact and fall out of the pandemic, and how organisations that invest in their staff’s good mental health will see results – in employee’s productivity, keeping teams together and adapting to the challenging working environments in these testing times.

We would like to say a big thank you to Fran Eccles-Bech, Chief Executive at Manchester Law society, and Julia Baskerville, publishing and managing editor at Baskerville Publications, for recognising the value in what we are doing, and for showing such great support as we aim to improve people’s mental health and wellbeing.

Chrysalis gets a boost from local press

5 November 2020 by Daisy Dixon

Following the launch of two of our new services, we are happy to say that we are being well supported by our local press.

The Saddleworth Independent newspaper, which has a monthly readership of around 25,000, recently featured two articles about our services aimed at young people, and our walking therapy treatments; both of which aim to alleviate the stress and pressure felt by a large number of people.

The report on our work in schools and with young people talks about how our mental health workshops are designed to be informative, interactive and fun – and can be tailored around the needs of a specific subject.

Chrysalis founder, Daisy Dixon, said: “The impact of Covid-19 for young people and children, who already had trigger factors to deal with, will be intensified. We aim to promote good mental health and wellbeing through storytelling, role play, art, and games, with an emphasis on mindfulness, self-regulation, and resilience.”

Speaking about our work with walking therapy, the newspaper spoke about how these types of therapy sessions can feel a lot less intimidating than a traditional therapy setting, with Daisy saying: “This type of therapy is proven to reduce blood pressure, reduce risk of diabetes, improve strategic thinking, enhance creativity, reduce anxiety, alleviate stress, improve anger issues and reduce levels of depression. I’ve seen it in practice a bit in America but not much over here. It will get people out of the house or office into the fresh air.”

We’d like to say a big thank you to Aimee Belmore and the team at the Saddleworth Independent for recognising the value in what we are doing, and for showing such great support as we aim to improve people’s mental health and wellbeing.
